Illustrated with sixteen plates, fourteen of which are in colour, and many in-text images. Collated complete. A detailed study of British butterflies with reference to the butterfly life cycle, feeding, breeding, the individual parts of the body, and each individual species native to the British Isles. Written by William Stephen Coleman, an English painter, illustrator, and writer. Illustrated by Edmund Evans, an English wood-engraver and colour printer of the Victorian era. In the original green and blue cloth binding. Externally, smart with light shelf wear and minor bumping to the extremities. Minor fading to the spine and the odd spot to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd spot and light spotting to the endpapers. Bookseller's label to the rear pastedown. Very Good

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
