This is a first edition, published in 1848 in London by Seeleys (a certain Seeley is also the printer).
See photos of Wiki page on the author and indications of a library-held copy. This is a very rare book and no copies appear to be available commercially.
Title gilt-stamped on spine. Bottom front corner slightly bumped. Virtually no foxing on the XII + 304 pp. Binding getting slightly loose with "P" signature standing out a tad.
Ink dedicace on FEP dated August,1848. Text followed by 8-page publisher's listing of works by the same author and works recently published.
