"Well known nationally as a patron of the arts, a philanthropist, and one of the most influential women in the state of Idaho, Velma V. Morrison grew up on a farm in Tipton, California during the Great Depression of the 1930s. She was already well on her way to leading a fascinating life when, in the 1950s, she met the recently-widowed Harry Morrison, founder of Morrison-Knudsen Engineering & Construction Company. They eventually fell in love and traveled the world together monitoring MK projects. Considerably younger than Mr. Morrison, Velma was left behind to finish his work. Not content to stop at that, she has gone beyond his vision. Her work with the Harry W. Morrison Foundation continues even today. This is their story, but mostly it is Velma's story....."
