About This Item
New York.: Harcourt, Brace & Co.,, 1942 1st. edn. Hardback in remains of dustwrapper. 8vo. x, pp82. Orig. red cloth, blue stamped to spine. Top edges dusty, faded head (!/2") & tail (1/4") of bumped spine where exposed by loss to d/w. Browning to endpapers & last 7 pp have marks from spilt coffee (?). Occasional spotting in rest of text. The d/w (I shudder to describe it!) has loss to head & tail and chipping along entire upper edge, rubbing through to fore-edges, though flaps still attached, and is generally grubby. HOWEVER, THIS IS AN ASSOCIATION COPY- with neat ink inscr. to fep "C & L Jarrell, San Francisco. 1943" (Charlie was Jarrell's younger brother and married to Lucy, see my copy of Little Friend, Little Friend also catalogued here). Also loosely inserted a manuscript poem signed by Charles.
