London: MacMillan, 1947 first edition of authors first work, book boards and cloth are VG but the text block is loose and nearly detached, the hinges are reinforced with cloth tape, fep is FULL of date stamps and library marks, small pen tick to title page, library stamp to closed edges, initials in pen at foot of last text page, DW not price clipped but bottom edge trimmed so a bit short for the boards, stamp to rear fold in flap. reading copy or for repair/ rebinding. DW OK for a better copy.. First Edition. Cloth. Fair/Good. 8vo - over 7? - 9? tall. Ex-Library.
