This is the history of the Lancashire Village Sabden form 1790 when it was established by a member of the Bury Family. They were in the calico printing trade which was then considered a craft and for the cheap land to be had in the area. By the 1770ies cloth manufacture had started to change, printing no longer was done by hand, looms became more mechanized and the art of calico printing evolved as well. This is the story of how this village grew and thrived and survived the numerous disputes as to who would rule the area. Out of Print and hard to find.
