About This Item
Harvard University, Belknap Press. Cambridge. 1955. 229 pages. First Edition, date on title page. The binding is firm. The black boards are in very good condition with only very slight bumping at corners and top/bottom of spine, visible wear along bottom edges, the title and author in bright gold on spine. The dust jacket is good at best: it is moderately toned over much of it and has been repaired by tape. There are small tears and about a 1-inch piece missing from the front top right corner and it is price-clipped. It is in a clear Mylar protective cover. The interior pages are in very good condition. They are clean and bright. There is no writing or foxing with the exception of a small spot on the inside of the back cover. The book contains several illustrations which are reproductions of figures produced by other artists such as Catesby and Audubon.
