About This Item
Leicester: Brockhampton Press, 1953. First edition, first printing. Published by Brockhampton Press in Leicester, 1953. This is a very good (or better) copy. The dust wrapper, designed by Stead, has some creased to both panels and light separation at the top and tail of the spine. It has not been price clipped, showing the original 7/6 net price. The boards are free from notable chips and marks. There is some tape residue to the front and rear fly leaves, though the internals are otherwise clean. The text blocks are slightly toned and faintly foxed. Overall, this is a very good (or better) copy. Biggles is asked by Brigadier Mander, to investigate the disappearance of his son, Adrian Mander. Adrian has set off in his aeroplane to the Sahara to find the tomb of King Ras Tenazza. He has gone with a person named Hassan Sekunder, whom the Brigadier suspects is not to be trusted. Biggles gets permission to go and find Adrian, with Ginger and Bertie, as the Brigadier will finance the expedition.
