Geneva version 1615, small 4to in eights, approximately 210 x 150 mm, 8¼ x 6 inches, engraved pictorial general title page: title within heart shaped panel, border with symbols of the 12 tribes to the left, the 12 apostles to the right and an evangelist at each inner corner, above separated by a dove and below by a lamb, divisional title page to Second Part of Old Testament, the same engraved title page to the New Testament, some pictorial woodcut head- and tailpieces, maps and illustrations in the text of the Old Testament plus a map of the Holy Land in the New Testament on reverse of The Printer to the diligent Reader, leaves numbered on rectos only: (4), 1-190, Genesis to Job; (1)-127, Psalms to Malachi; 2-121, New Testament; (11), First and Second tables, dated 1615; signatures: [par.]4, A-Z8, (-[par.]1), &6; Aa-QQ7; Aaa-Qqq8, Rrr4, lacks initial blank before Old Testament engraved title. Bound with The Booke of Common Prayer (A-E8, F2). Bound in old half calf, marbled boards, gilt rules and title label to spine plus date. Binding worn, upper hinge beginning to crack, spine relaid with repair to head of spine, upper cover has been wrongly attached, making it slightly higher than the lower cover, marbled paper rubbed, no free endpapers, inner paper hinges cracked, binding firm, neat inscription dated 1843 on front pastedown (George Edward Adams, from his Mother, The Honourable Mary Anne Adams March 1843), upper margin trimmed from engraved general title page, occasional light staining and light soiling, no loss of legibility except for small stain on D8v obscuring about 6 words, some upper margins trimmed, occasionally shaving the running title or leaf number, sidenotes not affected, small blank corner missing on C8 and Oo6, small corner missing from Mmm1 with loss of part of 7 lines of text and a few lines of the sidenote, small ink scribble in lower margin of Hh1, tiny rust hole in top margin of Mm3 with loss of a couple of letters, large pale stain to upper half of signature Qqq, no loss of legibility (see image), last page of Tables and first of Common Prayer dusty, a couple of Latin marginalia in the Common Prayer section. Acceptable copy (Apocrypha lacking although listed on verso general title). Geneva version with Tomson's New Testament and Francis Junius' Revelation. Our copy collates exactly as ESTC S123480 which like ours lacks Genealogies and Speed map.; Darlow and Moule Volume I, page 146, No. 266; Herbert, page 143, No. 342 (with genealogies and map): "the last roman type quarto edition of this version printed by Barker".
