New York: Charles Scribner's Sons. Very Good in Good dust jacket. 1953. First Edition. Hardcover. The story of an immigrant Irish Captain on the Great Lakes and his rise to wealth and power during the period 1876 - 1932. The author worked for a time on Lakes vessels in the early 1920's. Original wheat cloth covers with green spine lettering. Small bookshop sticker on lower edge of the front end paper, else a A clean, tight and unmarked book with no interior or exterior markings. The dust jacket is complete and unmarked with a little spotting to along the rear panel fold-over and a little edge wear. For those that may be sensitive, there there is a very faint musty odor. Ref.: Black 41, Andrews, Beasecker 199; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 438 pages .
