London: Herbert Jenkins, 1952. 8vo, pp. 222. Original red boards, lettered in black to spine. Illustrated dustwrapper. A fine, unread copy, a small and faint bookseller's stamp to foot of front pastedown, in a near fine price-clipped dustwrapper with a single small closed tear to lower edge of rear panel. First edition, published a month later in the US with the title Angel Cake. A much nicer copy than is usually found, in an unfaded dustwrapper with only minimal wear. McIlvaine A-72
Synopsis
Barmy in Wonderland is a novel by P. G. Wodehouse, first published in the United Kingdom on April 21, 1952 by Herbert Jenkins, London and in the United States on May 8, 1952 by Doubleday & Company, New York, under the title Angel Cake. The book concerns the character Cyril "Barmy" Fotheringay-Phipps, who had previously appeared in Wodehouse's Drones Club and Jeeves stories, and his adventures in the theatrical world.
