About This Item
Berkeley: Oyez, 1975. First edition. Bump to the spine, just about fine.. 8vo, unpag.; printed green wrappers. This copy has been boldly inscribed by Tranströmer on the first blank for fellow poet Christopher Middleton with the addition of an elaborately stylized letter "W" (which Tranströmer sometimes did in homage to his grandfather, whose name was Westerberg). He has also added textual corrections and glosses by hand to four pages of the poem. With the publisher's two-page press release and portrait photo of the poet loosely inserted. Tranströmer received the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2011, four years before his death.
