New York: Crosby Gaige, 1928. Hardcover. g to near fine. 289/831 signed James Branch Cabell at foreword. Original black quarter cloth over blue paper boards with intricate gilt decor and ruling on covers, gilt lettering on spine; in original glassine dustjacket. Title page with vignette in red. All text pages with compartmentalized multiple borders and floral decor in rectangles at foredges, all in red. Limitations page with publisher's device in red. Ballads by Cabell with decorations and typography by W. A. Dwiggins. Glassine jacket somewhat sunned with light wear along edges, small chips and two half inch closed tears. Binding with very light wear along edges. Interior near fine.
