Letter from Dickens to his Servant. ALS from Charles Dickens to his servant of twenty years, John Thompson, informing him that Dickens wouldn't be able to attend a dinner with Lady Molesworth and providing instructions. A few weeks after the letter was written, Thompson was found to have been stealing money from Dickens' magazine, 'All the Year Round' and discharged, though Dickens set him up in a small business afterward.
