Ex Officina Rob. Stephani. Very Good with no dust jacket. 1616. Hardcover. 16mo 6" - 7" tall; Bound in contemporary gilt-stamped full red leather, with spine bands, rectangular panelled boards with floral flourishes at corners, gilt edge patterns. Book is sympathetically rebacked, corners lightly worn, light wear to spine bands, gilt worn off in some places but bright, binding tight and solid, very good overall. Lightly and uniformaly toned, occasional light pencil marks, scattered light foxing. P. 19 misprinted as 9; armorial bookplate of Rev. C. A. Hulbert with ink inscription by same dated January 1827. A very good copy of this difficult-to-find early edition. Satirae by Aulus Persius Flaccus - Dated 1614 by Ex Typographia Rob. Stephani. Bound together with "Satirarum Libri V Sulpiciae Satira". Olive tree title . Two title pages. Both with engraving. WorldCat locates but 4 copies in collections around the world hence fairly scarce. .
