The second edition, revised. Reprinted from the Westminster Review. In the publisher's original blind stamped cloth. This scarce work on philosophy was written by John Stuart Mill, an English philosopher and politician. The work discusses Auguste Comte, a noted French philosopher, and his ideas on Positivism. Positivism is the philosophical school that believes that all knowledge must be proven true, therefor intuition and faith are meaningless.Stamp from 'Repton School Library' to the title page. In the publisher's original blind stamped cloth. Externally smart with fading to the spine and extremities, bumping to the extremities and minimal loss to the head of the spine with a closed tear to the corner to the head of the front board. Front hinge starting with the odd minimal ink notation to the front endpapers. Internally firmly bound with bright and generally clean pages with a stamp from 'Repton School Library' to the title page and the odd minor spot to the blanks. Very Good
