London: Oxford University Press, 1968. Though they had sailed twice around the world in their in their 30-foot yacht, Wanderer III, Eric and Susan Hiscock had never visited the United States. They decided to sail there via the Caribbean, spending two years on the round voyage. After port calls in Western France, Spain and Portugal, they revisited the Windward Islands and the Bahamas then sailed to Bar Harbor, Maine. They cruised down the East Coast to Fort Lauderdale Florida. From Florida they sailed home by way of the Bahamas, Bermuda, the Azores and S.W. Ireland. With its wealth of colour photographs, well drawn charts and all the attractiveness of Eric Hiscock's earlier books, this will delight both practical sailing men and lovers of travel books.
