New York: Street & Smith Publications, Inc. 1st Editions 1946 ----------12 pulp magazines, digest size, all 12 issues for 1946, from science fiction's "Golden Age". Complete serials this year were The Fairy Chessmen (Henry Kuttner & C.L. Moore), Pattern for Conquest (George O. Smith), Slaves of the Lamp (Arthur Leo Zagat), The Chronicler ((Van Vogt). Other important stories were Loophole (Clarke, his FIRST story), Rescue Party (Clarke), Memorial (Sturgeon), A Son is Born (and 2 other stories in the Clane the Mutation series by Van Vogt), Alexander the Bait (Tenn's FIRST story), 2 stories by Simak in his City series, Vintage Season (Kuttner and Moore), Evidence (Asimov, a Robot tale), Placet is a Crazy Place (Fredric Brown). January has a large piece out of the back cover, and is thus VG. May has the back cover entirely detached (but present), and is thus fair. November is taped, has tears and small pieces missing, cover almost detached, cover creases, and is poor but complete. The other issues have some cover creases, small tears, small pieces out of covers, wear to spine extremities, spine splits, and are VG to near fine. 11 front cover art is by William Timmins, and 1 by Alejandro.
