Charles Scribner's Sons, 1930. Hardcover. Fair/No Jacket. Fair ; No jacket. 1930 Charles Scribner's Sons. Oversize hardcover, 7.5 x 11.25 inches, has blue cloth-covered boards with gold spine and cover lettering. Color frontispiece with tissue guard. Twenty color plates of dog illustrations, including frontispiece, illustrated by the author. 80 pages. Hinges NOT cracked. Binding loosening, but intact and undamaged. Covers have moderate edge wear and surface rubbing, with spotting and darkening around all edges and spine. Spine ends worn and frayed, with small tears. Pages foxed, heavily at the first and last and lessening to almost nothing by about 20 pages inward from both covers. Some plates have spotting as well, typically at the edges. One plate is partially detached; one plate has a chipped bottom corner. Pages lightly tanned, more so at periphery, but still supple. Dust jacket is missing. Carefully packed, shipped in a box.
