About This Item
Large quarto 32.5x25 cm., wrappers, 52 (12) pp. Cover design by A. Vesninm 2000 copies. Contributors include Moise Ginzburg, A.V. Shchusev, S. Shervinskii, I. Rila, P. Ettinger, and S. Lifshits. This journal was the official organ of the Moscow Architectural Society (MAO). Vesin's cover design for this number came under attack by Mir Iskusstva critic Ivan Grabar as "a disaster…consisting banality that is scary for the whole ideology of Vesnin and his associates." But this unardorned geometric simplicity is whatg set the tone for modern page and cover design for the coming decades.
