New York: Kraus Reprint Corporation, 1967. Hardcover. Very Good+. A reprint of the 1902 & 1903 De Vinne Press facsimiles produced from the copies of La Aravcana in the library of Archer M. Huntington. Boards in burgundy cloth with gilt lettering on spine. Slight soiling on text block edges. Interior is crisp, clean and unmarked. Two volumes in one. Spanish language. The epic poem by the Basque-Spanish soldier and poet Alonso de Ercilla y Zuniga (1533-1594), wherein he describes and celebrates the military conflict between the Spaniards and the Araucanian/Mapuche people of Chile. Ercilla had been a first hand witness to the conflict and participated in the fighting during his years in Chile, 1556-1563.
