Gainsville, FL: Purser Publications. Very Good in Good dust jacket. 1973. First Edition. Hardcover. Red hardback. Looks like dust has cut in front otherwise in very good condition. Dust in mylar cover. Author inscribed and signed the book 11/30/1976. This looks like it is perhaps volume 1 as dust and number of pages different from the volume 1 & 2. Rare author signed book. Stuart R. Purser was born in Stamps, Arkansas in 1907 and grew up in Louisiana. Stuart majored in history at Louisiana College in Pineville and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1928. Despite his father's wish that he become a medical doctor, Stuart followed a long-time desire to become an artist. He started the School of Art at the University of Florida. As a painter he did murals for the cites of Carrollton, Alabama, Grretna, Louisiana, Leland, Mississippi and Ferriday, Louisiana under a grant from the Federal Government. He has works in several museums andjprivate collections including the Smithsonian. Rare 1st book. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 82 pages; Signed by Author .
