Originally, the set was published in Antwerp in 1582 by Philips Galle.Signature and address in margin at left: Jo. Strada. inue. / P. Galleus excu.Four lines of Latin in two columns: Protrahit in mediam paulus dum dogmata noctem / Et vit[a]e pr[a]ecepta docet sermone diserto: / Examinis iuuenis tabulis delapsus ab altis / A Paulo in vitam rursus reuocatur euntem. Acto. Cap. 20.10.Titled at bottom left of the center: IVVENIS, LAPSV EX ALTO / MORTVVS, A D. PAVLO AD / VITAM REVOCATVR. Act. 20,10.Signature at bottom right: HGoltzius sculp.Numbered at bottom left: 29.[NL] Eutychus, een jongen die gestorven is door uit een raam te vallen, wordt door apostel Paulus opnieuw tot leven gewekt. De prent heeft een Latijns onderschrift en maakt deel uit van een 34-delige serie met als onderwerp de Handelingen van de apostelen. Deze afdruk in de laatste staat van de plaat komt uit de editie van 1783 van Aldernouwkeurigste verhandelinge der geschiedenissen van het Oud en Nieuw Testament ..., deel II. Antieke prent gemaakt door oude meester Hendrick Goltzius. Engraving on laid paper trimmed within plate mark; total: 201 x 265 mm; state III/3; rather cooked paper; the fuzziness on the right side is due to slipping in the printing process, overall in fair condition. Hollstein 221 (Stradanus), Fig. 1 in Galle. Mounted in elegant white cardboard passepartout.
