Paris: Bachelier, 1843. anticat16. 16mo. Contemporary cloth, spine lettered in gilt. Large bookplate on inner front cover, ownership signature on front fly leaf, a little wear to cloth at lower front hinge, a clean very good copy. On the life and works of Herschel, the astronomer who discovered Uranus. He is also remembered as a composer, producing 24 symphonies as well as other music. François Arago was Secrétaire perpétuel de l’Académie des Sciences.
