New York/Cleveland: World Publishing Company, 1946. First Thus . Hardcover. VG-/Good+. Book #6 in the acclaimed mystery series featuring New York writer/detective Ellery Queen. Orig published in 1933, this is the First Printing of the Tower Books edition from World Publishing from Sept. 1946 (First, thus). With matte black cloth-covered boards lettered in bright red to front & spine, condition is VG-: very clean & unmarked, pages heavily tanned, but completely supple, binding tight & square. Lower-outer corners are heavily bumped & there is modest rubbing to extremities. The unclipped DJ with spectacular cowboy design by Rudy Bass is Good+: bright & colorful but chipped at all extremities, most heavily at both ends of spine; nicely protected in nonreflective mylar cover.
