About This Item
Highland House Publishers, Inc., 1979. Book. Very Good. Cloth. 298 pages. Hardcover, volume 6 only from a complete ten volume set, each book having been issued separately. Bound in red cloth covered boards and wrapped in an illustrated paper dustjacket. The previous owner's bookplate remains on the inside front cover, and the jacket has some wear to the edges, although now encased in a Mylar sleeve. The book itself has a tight binding, sharp edges, and bright, clean interior. Text in English, including a special section by Clement E. Conger of Decorative Arts at the White House and one by John Wilmerding on the American painting collection of the White House. Profusely illustrated, largely in black and white, but with 56 pages of color. Even this many years later, this remains an exceptional reference, with an expertly prepared index for ease of use..
