New York: Harcourt, Brace and Company, (1953). First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good in a Good dustwrapper with some chips and tears. Later printing of the First Trade Edition of this autobiography but with a fine INSCRIPTION by Sandburg on the half-title page: "For Harold Taylor/our good friend who has/heard but not read the cen-/sored & omitted portions of/this book = in fellowship =" and SIGNED by the poet in 1956.

Synopsis

Born in 1878, Carl Sandburg grew with America. As a boy he played, studied, and matured in Galesburg, Illinois. Sandburg's reminiscence delivers a nostalgic view of small-town life and an invaluable perspective on American history. Index.
