Underwood-Miller, 1977. First Edition. Hardcover. Fine/Fine. 0x0x0. Keiko Nelson. Signed. As New, a collector's grade copy. Fine hardcover in a Fine dustjacket, in a Fine slipcase. Hardcover full bound in black leather with silver lettering to the spine. Clean inside and out with no markings of any kind; binding is solid and square. SIgned by the artist, Keiko Nelson, on a tipped in slip on the limitation page, and numbered #57 of 206.Front endpapers show a poem written by Howard at age 15 for a high school class, handwritten facsimile to one side and printed on the other. Rear endpaper reproduces the Frank Utpatel's line drawing for the original 1957 Arkham House hardcover edition. Unclipped dustjacket is in Fine condition, with no faults.Of two variant dust jackets I've seen noted, this is the multi-color one with the dragon design to the front panel. Slipcase is Fine in black cloth, with no faults. A collector's grade copy. With folded slip laid in, with a facsimile handwritten copy of Howard's poem 'The Song Of Yar Ali Kahn', previously unpublished.
Synopsis
Always Comes Evening is a collection of poems by Robert E. Howard. It was released in 1957 and was the author's second book to be published by Arkham House. It was released in an edition of 636 copies. The publication was subsidized by Howard's literary executor, Glenn Lord who compiled the poems.
