Edinburgh: David Douglas, 1902. Second Printing. Hardcover. Very good condition. Moore (1841-1887) (known generally as A. W. Moore) was a British civil servant and mountaineer and member of The Alpine Club. This is the second edition, printed after a rare private printing from 1867.
Presented to Ursula Corning by her father. Ursula Corning was a noted mountain climber (Matterhorn) & skier and member of The Alpine Club in London. She worked for the OSS, a predecessor to the CIA, during World War II.
Large 8vo, xxxv (list of 21 plates and 10 maps), 444pp, index [6]. Green cloth covers, gilt text on spine, foredge uncut. Spine sunned, rubbed at corners, interior clean and bright, binding tight. OCLC: 7094157.
