About This Item
Llandogo, Monmouthshire: The Old Stile Press, 2009. Limited Edition. Hardcover. Fine. Reddick, Peter. Number 14 of 150 copies, quarto size, [56] pp., signed by Peter Reddick, with Christmas card from the Old Stile Press. Originally printed by E. and R. Nutt for the Company of Stationers, in 1726. Nicolas McDowall, printer at The Old Stile Press, has long admired this particular Almanack, both for its beautiful binding and typographic composition, which prompted him to pursue a new printing of the work. For this edition, an homage to the original work, the section 'Notes of Husbandry' has been reprinted with the advice for each month being printed alongside illustrations by Peter Reddick; the whole works together to kindle a fond picture of eighteenth-century domestic duties in and around the home. Loosely inserted is a leaflet with color photos of the original volume, with a detailed description.
