"Printed by J.D. for M.P. and sold by A. Bettesworth in Pater-noster Row, and F. Clay without Temple-bar", Two volumes in 19th c. Morrell signed fine bindings of full polished calf, gilt, inner dentelles, marbled end papers, silk ribbon markers. Illustrated with engraved portrait of Mrs, Behn by B. Cole, with other full-page engraved plates at the frontis of each novel. The armorial bookplates of Charles and Virginia Baldwin front paste downs. Virginia Hobart nee Baldwin was a wealthy heiress to the Comstock Lode in Nevada, and her husband Charles was a noted art collector. Virginia's signature faint at front end page Vol. I, and has been obscured same page in Vol. II. The two volumes Near Fine, tiny rubs to calf at corners. All early editions of Mrs. Behn's novels are SCARCE, with last auction record on this edition in 1928. Especially so such a lovely set in fine bindings.. Seventh Edition. Polished Calf. Near Fine/No Jacket, As Issued. 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall.

"The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin is the traditional name for the unfinished record of his own life written by Benjamin Franklin from 1771 to 1790; however, Franklin himself appears to have called the work his Memoirs. Although it had a tortuous publication history after Franklin's death, this work has become one of the most famous and influential examples of an autobiography ever written. Franklin's account of his life is divided into four parts, reflecting the different periods at which he wrote them.

This edition is in very good condition internally. Photos of Ikebana arrangements by the famous Japan Ikebana master. A gift given to Julia Jeffers Dodge and placed in her library. 38 single sided (double page but other side blank) on high quality Japan paper with photo examples of Ikebana, black and white. A rare publication.
