The Alger Republican Club of Detroit visited Washington, and this volume describes their trip by rail to the capitol as well as sights and people seen along the way. One interesting chapter is titled "Six Nights in a Sleeper; What the Alger Republican Club Saw in Washington and En Route". One chapter devoted to Washington, meeting President Harrison at the White House, etc. , They passed through Niagra Falls, Pennsylvania, etc. Also included is a history of the club, members on the trip, etc. Nicely bound in blue and gold decorated cloth with black decorations. Contains eight pages of ads in the rear for Detroit businesses. Covers with a just a little extremity wear, yet still a nice, clean and tight copy. Old previous owner presentation on front end paper. Ref: Streeter 2922.; B&W Illustrations; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 113 pages .
