New York: Alfred A Knopf, 1985. Fourth Edition, Revised . Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. Inscribed on the half-title page by the author "For Douglas Woodruff, Jr./To my cruise companion/Best Wishes/Alexis Lichine/Sept. 1985". In addition an envelope and a type written letter on Lichine's stationary addressed to Woodruff and signed by his personal assistant is laid-in and a slip of paper with Lichine's address and phone numbers in New York and at the Chateau in France. Also another letter on Woodruff's business stationary addressed to Lichine. Nice clean copy, shows some mild wear, dust jacket in a new protective mylar sleeve. First printing of the fourth edition fully revised and updated. Large format book, illustrated with maps, bibliography, index, 733 pages.
