Pages remain bright and clear with minimal tanning and foxing. Heavier tanning to free endpapers and pastedowns. Thumb-marking present. Noticeable creasing to gutter. Cracking to gutters, with exposed netting. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Soft crushing to spine ends. Noticeable sunning to spine and edges. Light marks overall. Boards are slightly bowed. Book has a visible forward lean. Binding is somewhat shaky, but pages remain intact.
Synopsis
The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes is a collection of twelve stories by Arthur Conan Doyle, featuring his famous detective and illustrated by Sidney Paget. These are the first of the Sherlock Holmes short stories, originally published as single stories in the Strand Magazine from July 1891 to June 1892. The book was published in England on October 14 1892 by George Newnes Ltd and in a US Edition on October 15 by Harper. The initial combined print run was 14,500 copies.
