Cloth covered boards with black and red illustration on front, black print on spine. Boards lightly soiled, wear and fraying with bumps. Old bookstore stamp on front paste down; prior ownerÕs name on front free end paper, partially erased. Full page black and white illustrations on glossy paper, tipped-in; all illustrations present. Pages show dirty fingerprints. Pages and boards show damp stain on edges. Little, Brown hard cover, missing dust jacket; first edition Sept. 1916, but later 1919 printing. 116 pages. Illustrations by Harrison Cady. 12mo (4.5"" X 6.75"") 13th in the Bedtime Story-Books series. A stranger from the North Woods has just arrived in the Green Forest causing a great stir among the woodland creatures who live there. They quickly discover that this odd fellow with the barbed spikes in his fur is the loyal and brave Prickly Porky the Porcupine. Not long after Prickly Porky arrives, a bit of early morning fun leads to a forest mystery that draws friends and foes alike into the investigation of an unknown headless, tailless, whirling creature seen only at sunrise on the hill by Prickly Porky's home.
