DJ: Very Good; two small tears in spine; two closed tears on top edge; small missing piece on front panel at bottom. Tan paper over boards and spine with bright black lettering on the spine. 298 pp 8vo. George Bolds was a kid from Indiana who traveled west in 1879 stopping in Dodge City Kansas, met Bat Masterson, and eventually became one of the great lawmen of the American West. He made his name in the cow towns of the Old West; Dodge City, Abilend, Ingalls, Mobeetie, and Cimarron. Along the way he met and dealt with lawmen Wyatt Earp and Bill Tilghman and bad men like Black Jack Gonzales, Jack Callahan, and Kate O'Leary. He survived the Battle of Cimarron and was in the 1889 Oklahoma Territory Land Rush. He finally settled down in NYC where he was interviewed for this book. A clean very presentable copy in a Brodart mylar jacket.
