London: Gollancz, 1936. Cloth. Very Good Indeed/Very Good Indeed. 7.5" by 5". None. A lovely copy of Sayers' novel 'The 5 Red Herrings' in the particularly smart unclipped dust wrapper. The first cheap edition, being the tenth impression. First published in March 1931. In an exceptional smart example of the unclipped Gollancz yellow jacket. The Five Red Herrings is the sixth novel to feature Sayers' protagonist Lord Peter Wimsey, and is set in Galloway, following the death of artist and local drunk, Sandy Campbell. By Dorothy Sayers, noted crime writer and one of the Queens of Crime, alongside notable others such as Agatha Christie and Ngaio Marsh. In the original red cloth binding in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally in excellent condition. Dust wrapper is very smart with slight sunning to the spine. Very minor closed tears and chipping to the head and tail of the spine. Internally firmly bound. Pages bright and clean with the odd spot, heavier to the fore edge. Very Good Indeed
